Going for Gold in Singapore - Will Ellards triumphant World Para Swimming Championships

Will Ellard visits Harrod Sport - fresh from world-beating para swimming success

We were delighted to welcome Will Ellard - together with his dad, David - to Harrod Sport last week. Will is fresh off an incredible performance at the World Para Swimming Championships in Singapore, where he claimed four gold medals and a bronze, breaking two world records in the process. As one of our Ron Harrod Foundation winners, Will continues to exemplify the determination and excellence the Foundation exists to champion.

During the visit, Will and David toured our factory, met the team and took a behind-the-scenes look at how Harrod Sport equipment is designed and made. They kindly brought the medals too, which gave our colleagues a rare chance to see para swimming success up close - and to capture some fantastic photos from a memorable day.

Hearing Will talk through his training was genuinely inspiring - everything from the early starts to the relentless focus on the small gains that decide medals. He gave us a real window into race-day mindset too: calm under pressure, absolute trust in the plan, and the ability to execute when it counts.

What really struck us was the scale of commitment behind elite para swimming: the strength work, the pool hours, the nutrition, the recovery - repeated day after day. Add in the constant travel to competitions and camps, and you start to appreciate just how much dedication it takes to perform at the very top. It's a level of professionalism that's as demanding as it is impressive, and seeing it up close left us full of admiration.
